The article decribing creating, editing and usage of universal blocks.
Universal blocks are used to replace different elements, which are not in the program's library. It enable us to pick dimension of case, present the approximate switchgear project, design a cover or another switchgear's elements.
Depending on requirements, we can choose two types of universal block: block and cylinder.
To create new block, click on one of two icons. Next, it is needed to move the cursor over the 3D designer window and click left mouse button.
After placing the block, the size of it can be changed freely. By dragging the handles with a mouse you can regulate the size of the block. The second way is to write desirable amount in the tool panel on the right side.
The chosen dimensions are approved by the OK button. After approval a block can be moved freely.
A block can be named freely. For this purpose, it is needed to mark it and click: the right mouse button(1)→Advanced(2)→Rename(3), or click the F2 button.
For added blocks there is a possibility to change their colours. For this purpose, search and branch out in the project's tree the interesting us composition(1) → click the right mouse button on the Model(2) → Model properties(3).
The available options are to be seen on the right side of the tool panel. There is the possibility to use the materials' defined list.
Colour and another effects such as: transparency and specular can be chosen freely.
The ready blocks can be copied and set in the particular place on the project.
We can merge the blocks freely, creating in that way more complicated compositions.
